  • Data Warehousing: Qlik Replicate can be used to replicate data from operational databases to data warehouses for analysis.
  • Disaster Recovery: Qlik Replicate can be used to replicate data in real-time to a secondary location for disaster recovery purposes.
  • Cloud Migration: Qlik Replicate can be used to move data from on-premises systems to cloud-based systems.
  • Analytics: Qlik Replicate can be used to move data from various sources into a single location for analysis.
  • More detailed documentation with errors that occurred in the tool.
  • More agile and efficient support.
  • It works best if you also use other Qlik products.
  • Few APi integrations are not compatible
Qlik Replicate works very well with relational data platforms, both on premise and in the cloud, for example Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and others, it also works very well with DB2.
If the data source is MongoDB, it is more complicated and currently there is no possibility of sending data to MongoDB.

We use Qlik replicate to extract data from sources to a decentralized environment to minimize the impact on our production sources. We do this on any data sources that are relevant for our data engineers. We have different types of sources that all need to be replicated and Qlic replicate has done a good job so far for our data sources like Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft SQL servers.
  • It has a really good replication speed.
  • The interface is initiative.
  • It supports many major platforms.
  • It’s a bit heavy for our relative small environment.
  • It works best if you also use other Qlik products.
  • You need experienced people to work with this tool.
Qlic replicate works best if you have a good data specialist that knows what he is doing. If you have many different source platforms, Qlic can make a connection to all. It supports many of the major platforms. If you mainly use one data source platform, the native tooling could better suit your use case. If you have a small company, it probably would be better to look for some cheaper tooling.

Qlik Replicate is used in IT to replicate on-prem data to off-prem Cloud solutions.
  • Replicates data across disparate platforms.
  • Pretty easy to maintain and update
  • Troubleshooting issues can be difficult as errors are not very clear.
  • Logging is minimal and not terribly helpful by default unless you increase the logging levels.
It is well suited for replicating data across disparate data platforms. If your environment only uses one data platform (i.e. only SQL Server, only Oracle, etc.) then you can probably rely upon replication solutions provided by said products.

We use Qlik Replicate (formerly Attunity Replicate) to load data from multiple on-prem sources (Oracle and SQL Server DBs) into the Cloud Data warehouse in Azure cloud. Software is easy to set up and configure. Software is very reliable, works great, has a scheduler that some other competitors don't have as well as a job notification process. UI is very intuitive and as long as there are no tricky transformations are deployed, users don't need any training. For heavy-duty transformations to implement, it gets tricky, and transformation functions are not obvious at times. The software supports a variety of sources and targets and works better than competitors. We run daily/weekly/monthly jobs to replicate on-prem data into the cloud and it works very well. We also have a number of near real-time replication jobs and [they] work well too.
  • Performing near-real time replications for 14TB SQL Server DB into Azure EDW
  • Performing near real time replications from 28TB on-prem Oracle DB into Azure EDW
  • Looking for Qlik to support CDS view replications from S4 HANA, both full loads and CDC
  • Better document data transformation functionality

We use Qlik Replicate for the replication of data in our brick-and-mortar source system databases to our cloud database. Our source systems are on many servers and we replicate them near real-time to a central cloud database. In our central cloud database, our users (product, data scientists, business analysts, etc.) can query the data directly. We also maintain data marts against the replicated data that are used by many different areas of our business as well. With Qlik Replicate we can tune replication to be cost-effective per data set. And, with Qlik Enterprise Manager we can manage and analyze all replication tasks in a single UI no matter how many Qlik Replicate servers we may have and, whether they are on Linux or Windows.
  • Many different source to target replication options
  • Common UI on Linux and Windows
  • Lots of task tuning options
  • Robust API (Enterprise Manager)
  • Easy to use UI
  • Robust scheduler
  • I would like to be able to keep task history beyond 30 days for viewing in analytics.
  • I would like integrations to more than email. Say, MSFT Teams channels.
  • Logging is great. With known resolutions to errors that are encountered it would be great to have more detailed context-sensitive help for faster resolution of errors. Especially if they are well known in the community.
  • I would like integration to source control for our at least our tasks.
We've found Qlik Replicate is well suited for near-real-time data replication from brick and mortar databases to cloud providers. We've tried a number of different options and found Qlik Replicate to be the one product that could handle all of our use cases without any issues. We also minimize any custom code needs as well as administration and application support needs.

Operational Application Data (Oracle + SQL Server) replication to Data Lake (SnowFlake). The core capability is to replicate Operational data in real/batched mode to Data Lake as core to servicing enterprise data hub which enables Enterprise Reporting, Data Warehouse, and other data as application usage (Data Innovation and sharing at the edge).
  • Real time replication using Database Logs
  • Speed to setup and make it operational
  • Speed to business value realization
  • Applying the solution to SAP/HANA and other databases as source
  • Connectors/Adaptors to Tier 1 Cloud applications
  • Data type portability across multiple databases
A great tool to data replication solution for Oracle/SQLServers/etc. Fails to replicate data from SAP HANA via CDS Views and/or using SAP ODP framework. Only SAP HANA log base replication is supported which is not certified by SAP nor guaranteed for row tables. Real easy to get it set up and start realizing business value.

Good for database to database replication. Salesforce connector did not work last I checked as it did not handle custom fields well and was erroring out due to row counts.

Qlik's solutions have helped make financial data more easily accessible across orgs and has provided the additional functionality my team needs to provide real-time analytics in a fast-pace Tech environment. The platforms used prior to Qlik were not as intuitive, less reliable and much slower than the solutions provided by Qlik.
  • intuitive interface
  • reliable data
  • helpful support when needed
  • smoother interface
  • faster load times
  • enhanced funtionality
There are many applications where Qlik's solutions have helped my team considerably, most notably when we were tasked with providing detailed analysis with a short turn-around time (Qlik's quick interface allowed us to complete the task without delay). A scenario where Qlik is not ideal is when it's used by an untrained or inexperienced user.

Qlik Replicate is being used as a Data Ingestion layer from enterprise applications and source systems like ERP, CRM by directly scanning the backend DB logs on a real-time basis. Qlik Replicate is used specifically by IT for Data Warehousing and BI reporting. It helps resolve not running a batch-based ETL process to ingest the data into the Data Warehouse staging layers avoiding an expensive overhead to manage additional time-bound processes.
  • Data ingestion.
  • Real-time analytics.
  • Replicating/syncing source data (CRUD operations).
Qlik Replicate is well suited for building data pipelines to replace ETL processing, this is extremely useful when the source datasets lack identification of change records. Instead of ETL doing a row by row comparison which is more expensive Qlik Replicate does the delta changes by using watermark from the database logs eliminating the need any additional processing for sourcing the data. It is more appropriate where the need arises to ingest the source data as its generated for faster ingestion and analysis (real-time analytics).

It is used as a replication service(tool) to copy data from one source to another(Target) and make use of the data instead of hitting the main source and that is used for all the data analytics. This solved the problem of the cross-platform join for the end-users who want to view the data.
  • Replication
  • Synchronization
  • Distribution
  • Support

Organizations should use this tool if they have a variety of data sets that needed to be in one place and do cross-platform joins.

We use Replicate to ETL data from on our prem instances to cloud databases hosted by both ourselves and our clients. Our clients benefit greatly from having near-real-time data from our application available to them for analysis and integration purposes. Using Replicate allowed us to avoid developing our own custom processes and tooling for automating the creation of these ETL processes.
  • Reliably and quickly delivers data to and from a wide variety of endpoints.
  • Support staff responds quickly and helpfully to support requests and questions.
  • API coverage in Enterprise Manager allows for automation of administrative tasks.
  • The base Replicate web GUI is lacking. If you have dozens or more tasks, it's hard to get a sense of how they're performing. Enterprise Manager solves all of these problems but is a separate install.
  • The support portal is extremely difficult to navigate. It's hard to track down exactly what you're looking for.
  • It would be helpful to have better documentation and example queries for the tables in the Enterprise Manager analytics database.
  • Destination databases that don't support common DDL commands behave unpredictably. And the replication of schema changes isn't consistent.
It's a great solution if you have relatively static schemas and a limited number of tasks going to a small number of distinct endpoint types. In those situations, it can easily handle large volumes of data changes given appropriate host resources. However, once you end up with a larger number of tasks with a diversity of destination endpoint types Enterprise Manager becomes essential. Automating tasks via API is needed to keep management of the tool sustainable.

Our organization uses Qlik Replicate for streamlined data replication for ingestion across our North American data warehouses and big data platforms both on-prem and cloud environment solutions. For over 5 years we have used Qlik Replicate to move our data securely and fast! Qlik integrates with our other enterprise suites nicely and the ease of use and reliability, not to mention the economic costs, keeps us renewing year after year. The representatives and support teams at Qlik are outstanding as well. Overall, Qlik Replicate is a solution we will continue to use for years to come without our ever-evolving technological landscape.
  • Data replication.
  • Data ingestion.
  • Data streamlining across multiple platforms.
  • Not applicable, we are pleased with the performance and functionality as is.
Qlik Replicate is well suited in a data management environment where there are various databases, data warehouses, and big data platforms. When an organization has many different data stores, it is crucial for end-users to see their data as holistic, and Qlik Replicate achieves this for our very large organization. Qlik Replicate may not be suited for smaller organizations that only have a few data points.

Replicate data from on-prem DB2 on z/OS (mainframe) database to S3 and Aurora PostgreSQL databases in AWS cloud.
  • Support for many source and targets.
  • Ability to customize replication setup (set locking level with connection string, set the replication key, etc.).
  • Straightforward and problem-less installation.
  • Lack of APIs on replicate server to automate and monitor replication. (repctl API interface on Linux replicate server is limited and being deprecated, forcing customers to use AEM server to control replicate box)
  • AEM server (web interface) seems laggy, nonresponsive, slow, does not refresh. Needs to be more mature.
  • Task scheduler is only available on replicate server web console. AEM should have the ability to set schedules.
Simple interface, Nice AEM GUI interface for non experienced user (much simpler that Informatica). Best for simple CDC replications without any ETL manipulation for companies with inexperienced stuff.

At the same time can be customizable with JSON config files. Biggest strength is a support for a number of endpoints (supports DB2 z/OS as source)

For our main company-wide LIMS system to replicate for reports.
  • Easy to make DDL changes that replicate.
  • Easy to add and subtract tables.
  • Keeps up with very busy system.
  • Better explanation in help for settings to explain if change one setting how it could affect another setting.
  • A better recommendation on what to set for a combination of settings for certain circumstances
  • Make support portal much easier to use. Don't know when responding if respond to the latest comment from the support engineer or to the ticket - very confusing.
  • The responsiveness from support to be much improved. I couldn't get someone to call me on the phone to discuss everything which would take a lot less time than going back and forth on the support portal.
  • Latency alert to allow to be defined to continue sending every number of defined minutes like every 30 minutes if still above the threshold and hasn't dropped below the threshold. It's easy to miss the initial email so if emails continue to be sent then there's more of a chance to catch that replication is behind and something may be wrong or broken.
Good for a reporting scenario to replicate just the tables needed for reporting from another database.

We use Qlik replicate to sync data across multiple internal database systems. It is owned by our data services team but feeds systems that are used across the entire organisation. It mitigates a potentially intensive impact to steel thread systems.

We also use it to feed our Kafka, which in turn serves our datalake in Google cloud platform.
  • Reduces impact on source systems by reading database logs
  • Allows for minor data transformations as part of the replication
  • Allows for point in time recovery
  • Their support is pretty poor. They can take a every long time to get to the root cause of issues and it can take a long time to roll out patches for bugs.
  • We asked about a pubsub target endpoint over a year ago and have not seen anything in their roadmap for it
  • QEM APIs could be improved. We've tried to automate a lot of the management but due to these limitations our solution is not as good as it could be
  • No ci/cd process promoting tasks across environments.
It's great if you need read only copies of data. Expect to have to deal with a lot of reloads though. When it fails, it can fail spectacularly though.

We use Qlik Replicate in one specific vertical within our larger organization. We are using it to copy transactional tables from our CRM database into a data warehouse so that we can build a business intelligence suite on top of that data in an OLAP database. Qlik Replicate allows us to easily copy that data without our having to build our own custom, real-time ETL processes.
  • Replicate is extremely stable and does not generate a lot of alerts/failures/issues that take up time to troubleshoot.
  • It is very easy to add new source tables to a Replicate task so that we're always in sync with new data available from the CRM.
  • It's nice that Qlik Replicate also allows you to create a job to stop and then restart your tasks during maintenance windows that occur on both the source and target systems.
  • I wish there was a way to give the user the option to decide if changing a particular task setting actually requires a reload of the target table. Too many changes or modifications within the task settings require you to reload a table and if the target database and source database do not have the same data retention policies then you risk losing data and you have to account for that when changing task settings.
  • From time to time a particular task begins to build up latency where it becomes 2,3 or 4 hours behind the source system. It's never really clear why that is occurring and it may be impossible to know exactly but I wish there was a way to know that it was due to activity happening at the source or the target.
We don't really use a lot of the more advanced features of Qlik Replicate (like transformations) but I feel like Qlik Replicate is very good at the simple 1:1 replication of source to target. It provides you a way to view change tables to see how/when attributes within source tables changed. It's great for business groups that may not know as much about building an ETL but it would get the data they need into a non-production environment to query/investigate/report on certain aspects of their business without the necessity of a giant IT budget.

We have recently implemented Qlik Replicate to move our data from two different data platforms to one. The sources are Oracle and DB2 and target is MS SQL. We used to have a lot of challenges utilizing the data from different platforms on reporting, analytics, and supporting downstream systems, which were mostly utilizing the SQL server. After the implementation, I think a great amount of our energy is saved and we are engaged in more productive projects and are able to to utilize our time efficiently.
  • Qlik Replicate brought a great experience with respect to the ease of implementation and great UI. We had a software that was a blackbox for the team and was very hard to maintain. Qlik Replicate implementation helped us avoid dependency on one resource.
  • Global transformation and in-built functions are what I like in our project.
  • You can customize the conversion/transformation using a JSON file generated by Qlik Replicate, and it is very convenient.
  • I think Qlik File Channel need some improvement.
  • Sometimes log files are not getting deleted when you push it to purge on UI.
  • Upgrading the software should be a one-click task. The software should be intelligent enough to back up the required old version of a file in the archive and apply the patch, and if all goes well, purge the archive or else it will revert back.
I have used this software earlier also, and this is the second place where I have suggested the management to try and the IT management liked it in the first demo. I liked this software because of its easy-to-use features and powerful engine to replicate data from different DB platforms.

Qlik Replicate is used to keep internal and external data in sync for the Interstate Batteries data lake running on Snowflake. It is used across the entire organization, even at the officer level. It allows us to have a reliable single source of truth for the various reporting needs at Interstate.
  • Replicate data from external sources to an internal data lake.
  • Keep data in sync from one source to another collective source, regardless of the sources in question.
  • Perform near-real-time tasks and replications as required, but this is adjustable because some of our replications are only meant to provide data that is not less than 24 hours old.
  • In the beginning of our partnership, support was a real challenge. It has improved over the last three years, but there is still more room for improvement.
  • The learning curve is steep and it is hard to find a replication specialist, so Interstate was forced to train someone in house, and there were growing pains there.
  • Cost is always an area for improvement, although, in my opinion, at least for Interstate, cost is reasonable.
It is a good solution to achieve the purpose of keeping two disparate data sources in sync with each other. Our environment is small to medium size, so it is hard for me to say how well it scales. The rate of replication is adjustable and this is one way to improve performance.
